We will be getting hitched on the terrace at The Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson at 5 p.m. Cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and the formal reception will follow 7 p.m.- 11 p.m.
If inclement weather, the ceremony will be held on the 9th floor of the hotel.
By now you all should have received your invitation with notes on how to book rooms in our block at The Hyatt Regency in Jersey City.
Here are some alternative options if you’re looking for something different:
540 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07310
479 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07310
***Please note that the ferry from Manhattan can at times run a little slowly so please be sure to leave plenty of time to be seated on the terrace before the 5 p.m. start.
If you’re staying at the Hyatt there’s no need for transport! The entire night will be spent at the hotel. The other two hotels we recommended are located within a ten minute walk to The Hyatt. Ubers/Lyft are also available.
If you’re coming from Manhattan, you can take the ferry or PATH train. The NY Waterway Ferry system stops at Harborside and Paulus Hook in Jersey City. Both stops are within three minutes walking distance from the Hyatt. Tickets for the ferry are about $8 dollars and you can buy them at the station in Manhattan or online via the NY Waterway app. Some popular stations in Manhattan to catch the ferry include 33rd street and Brookfield Place. The ferry from Brookfield Place is about 10 minutes and the ride from 33rd Street is about 20 minutes.
NOTE: The ferry stops in the evening and you will not be able to take it back to the city. The PATH train and Uber/Lyft are available for transport back to Manhattan after the reception.
For those of you who want to take the train from Manhattan to the ceremony, the PATH to Jersey City is the only option. The Exchange Place stop in Jersey City is directly next to The Hyatt. You can catch the PATH from multiple locations in Manhattan, including 23 Street, World Trade Center, Christopher Street and 34 Street Herald Square. The PATH runs through the evening and you can take it back to the New York when the party ends!
Getting to Jersey City from the airport or train stations:
If you’re flying to the area, then Newark airport is closest. It is a 20 minute drive to The Hyatt. Ubers/Lyfts/Taxis are available from the airport.
If you’re taking the train to the wedding from cities such as Boston or Washington, DC, you can take Amtrak to Newark Penn Station. This station is also a short 15 minute drive to Jersey City. But the easiest and cheapest way to get to Jersey City from Newark Penn Station is using the PATH train. Once you get off Amtrak you can switch over to the PATH which is usually on the same platform as the train you roll in on. However, check the screens when you get into the station to double check. To take the PATH you will need to buy a METRO card at the machines located at the entrance to the PATH. Take the train to Exchange Place. The Hyatt is located directly next to the station. If you’re staying at one of the other two hotels, you should take the train to Newport. In order to do that, you will need to switch lines at Journal Square.
